Here is a listing of the working committees for the mtaw. There is also a description of each committee and all of the members of that particular committee.

2008 – 2009 MTAW Committee List

Membership committee
This committee will assist the Board in promoting MTAW, soliciting new members and the retention of existing members and encourage association involvement. They will work closely with the Executive Secretary on the membership roster, maintain the membership brochure and write articles for the newsletter. They will also monitor the membership fee schedule and make recommendations to Board if changes are warranted.

education committee
This committee will be responsible for review of content of UWGB Treasurers Institute and will assist Conference Committee and District Directors in content of training sessions as requested. They will also maintain the criteria for MTAW certification and re-certification requirements and review all applications for MTAW certification and re-certification and make recommendations to Board. This committee shall consist of the three Directors-At-Large and the Past-President.

Web site committee
The Web Site Committee, under the direction of the Executive Board, directs and supervises the Association’s Web Site and works in conjunction with the Executive Secretary to provide information to our members electronically. The Executive Secretary and web administrator shall serve as the web site committee.

scholarship committee
This committee will administer the scholarship program of MTAW, which offers assistance to selected recipients for costs associated with attendance at the UWGB Institute. They will maintain scholarship application forms, have copies available for applicants and include applications in newsletter and on web site. They will be responsible to coordinate with scholarship sponsors on number and amount or their respective scholarships, review all scholarship applications received and make recommendations of awards to Board. Once the Board gives their approval the committee will provide the Executive Secretary and the Newsletter Committee Chair the final list of recipients. This committee shall consist of the three Directors-At-Large and other members-at-large.

celebrations committee
The purpose of the newly formed Celebrations Committee is to promote support and thoughtfulness to fellow members of the association at a time of illness, death and challenging times at work. A thoughtful card regarding the situation would be sent from the Association to the member. We are asking the entire membership to forward information to the committee.

mission / vision statement committee
This committee will create a mission/vision statement for the MTAW Association and present it to the president at least two weeks prior to the September 2008 conference. If the board recommends changes then they will present another draft to the president at least two weeks prior to the April 2009 conference.

joseph j. krueger award committee
The purpose of the award is to formally recognize an active member of the Municipal Treasurers Association who has made an outstanding contribution to his/her profession and/or outstanding contributions to the general welfare of his/her community. The nominations will be judged by a committee of three or more people comprised of prior recipients of the Joseph J. Krueger Award.

election committee
The Election Committee will see that ballots are printed prior to the annual meeting. The ballots will list the title of officers for which elections are to be held, the names of candidates for those officers as presented by the Nominating Committee, and a space in which a name may be written in for each office. No ballots need to be prepared in advance if only one candidate is nominated for each office prior to the annual meeting.

This committee will keep the association updated on legislation that may have an impact on the municipal treasurer.

Constitution & by-laws committee
This committee is responsible for periodically updating the Association Constitution and By-Laws as needed and making recommendations to the board regarding any changes. The Vice-President is to chair this committee.

The Audit Committee shall annually review the records and financial reports of the Association's Treasurer for accuracy and to ensure that funds are received and dispersed within the guidelines established by the Executive Board.
